Keeping a hijab secure does not always require traditional pins. The right combination of fabric, wrapping technique and discreet accessories can give you a comfortable style that stays in place while avoiding unnecessary holes or snagging.
The best method depends on your scarf fabric, how much movement your day involves and whether you prefer a loose or close-fitting wrap.
1. Start with a fabric that matches your styling needs
Fabric choice makes a big difference. A jersey hijab has more natural grip and stretch, so it can be easier to style with minimal securing. A modal hijab has a lighter, more fluid drape and may benefit from a little extra support if your preferred style is very structured.

2. Use a balanced wrap
A scarf is more likely to shift if most of its weight sits on one side. Before securing anything, check that your starting lengths make sense for the style you want. If one side needs to wrap around the head, leave it longer, but avoid creating more loose fabric than necessary.
When you bring the scarf around, guide the fabric into place instead of pulling it tightly. Excess tension can make a style uncomfortable and can cause layers to move as you turn your head.
3. Shape the front before wrapping
Take a few seconds to establish the front edge around the face before you wrap the remaining fabric. A clean fold or natural jersey edge can help the rest of the scarf sit more predictably. Once the front is positioned, avoid repeatedly pulling on it while finishing the style.
4. Try scarf magnets
Scarf magnets can hold two layers together without piercing the fabric. They are useful under the chin, at the shoulder or anywhere two layers need a discreet securing point. BeiCollection's Hijab Accessories include reusable scarf magnets for pin-free styling.
Place the two magnetic pieces on opposite sides of the fabric and make sure the scarf feels comfortable before you finish the wrap. As with any accessory, avoid creating unnecessary pressure around the neck.
5. Use fashion tape for small areas that move
Fashion tape can be helpful when one edge or layer repeatedly shifts. Instead of securing the entire hijab, use a small amount only where you need extra hold. Our fabric-friendly fashion tape is designed as a styling aid and is available in the Accessories collection.
Always test any adhesive product on a discreet area first if you are unsure how a particular fabric will respond.
6. Keep the number of layers practical
More layers do not always mean more security. Extra fabric can create weight and movement. If your hijab keeps slipping, try simplifying the wrap before adding more securing points. A clean one-wrap or shoulder-drape style can sometimes stay in place more easily than a complex layered style.
What if your hijab still slips?
Ask what is actually moving. If the whole scarf shifts, fabric choice or the starting position may be the issue. If only the front edge changes shape, focus on shaping and securing that area. If one shoulder layer falls, a magnet or small amount of fashion tape may be enough.
